The project has undergone a modification, which involves inserting the connector into the filter from the side without relying on a leer-lock that can easily come loose. This connector is designed for use with a 3M multi-use mask (non-medical standard) and connects it to the standard inlet of a breathing ventilator's filter. Given my knowledge, all 3M masks feature the same type of plug, making this connector compatible with various types of masks manufactured by 3M. When working in the field as a paramedic, two filters are typically required. However, for static work within a hospital setting, only one filter is necessary. To accommodate this requirement, an endcap has been included to seal the other outlet on the 3M mask. If you don't possess a 3M mask, I've provided a project that enables you to print your own mask: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4241187 The design features a substantial thickness to ensure rigidity and guarantee a secure seal. The tolerances are narrowly set to ensure the tube fits tightly into the filter. If the fit is either too tight or too loose, adjustments can be made by tweaking the settings for horizontal X/Y compensation (Slic3r, Simplify3D) or horizontal expansion (Cura). It's essential to note that this connector serves as an alternative to the original and certified components. While some individual doctors have accepted it based on their own assessment, the seal has not undergone clinical testing. Nevertheless, from a logical perspective, it should provide a secure seal due to its tight fit.
