3M male bayonet plug
thingiverse
This is a protective plug designed to safeguard the exposed internal components of 3M's respirator filters and cartridges, which feature a female bayonet connector similar to those found on 3M elastomeric facepiece respirators. It serves as a barrier for the vulnerable parts of these devices. The plug does not create an airtight seal around the female bayonet connector. This part should be printed using PETG or ABS materials. Printing at 100% infill or all-perimeters is recommended. Cleaning procedures can follow guidelines established by the CDC in the USA, which were initially outlined in a white paper from 3M itself. Due to the porous nature of 3D-printed items, complete sterilization cannot be guaranteed. The core design has undergone several refinements. The most functional versions have been uploaded. Two STL files are attached: maleBayonetV3.stl, modelled in Shapr3D, and maleBayonetFCV1.stl, created using FreeCAD. Additionally, source files from FreeCAD are included.
