This is a straightforward concept CAD to convert a commonly and cheaply available rescue mask into a 3M filter compatible mask. This design follows the 22mm OD standard for an adult rescue mask and can be inserted in place of the one-way valve. The other side resembles a 3M Bayonet connector, allowing any 3M 5000/6000-series respirator-compatible filters to be used. Make sure to print using a relatively rigid filament/resin and seal the edges with epoxy/silicone sealant/non-porous adhesive for more reliable filtering. This design utilizes Andrey Revyakin's 3M bayonet adapter design, which incorporates the wider base on the Bayonet connector and seems to provide a better seal against the cartridge. An O-ring or gasket may be required for proper sealing. Great work, Andrey! Note: This modification has not been approved by any government agencies. Any rescue mask modified using this adapter should not be used in place of an approved respirator, as this project serves as an emergency stopgap when no respirator or alternative filtering options are available.
