Remixing an existing design allows it to be printed without support, as the notches that keep the filter secured can print overhangs just fine. This remix does not offer the same level of protection as the original design (the opening is larger). However, it requires less filament and prints faster. I dislike printing with support, so this remix is a better option for me. I strongly recommend purchasing the original PN 501 cover and using this only in an emergency while waiting for shipment to arrive. The problem with 3D printed parts is that without post-processing and leak testing we might create parts that leak small particles (defeating protection) due to microscopic gaps between layers. In this case, I hope it will be negligible since it's just a holder for the filter. Behind the filter are multiple layers of filters in my case, and air shouldn't pass through the holder anyway. Still, there is some risk involved, and don't expect performance like the original. Getting the original is still strongly advised. These opinions are mine, so don't hold me liable for whatever you decide to do.
