3M Compatible Respirator Air Filter Cartridge

This design is intended for use in creating a 3M compatible respirator filter cartridge that can accept various types of filter media. Since FDM prints are naturally porous, they must be filled and painted to ensure proper sealing, this design is centered around a PVC clean-out plug to minimize the effort required. These plumbing parts are inexpensive, strong, and widely available. The design aims to accommodate plugs made by any manufacturer. Parts for two sizes are included: 3 inches and 4 inches. A drilling guide, filter material trimming template, and painting masks are provided to simplify construction. Detailed instructions with pictures of each step are also included. Note that only the 3-inch version has been tested. Please contact me with any errors or suggestions you may have. If it is desired to filter both inhalation and exhalation air, your respirator mask's valves will need to be disabled. An overview of this process is included in the instructions, but since models vary, it is necessarily general.
