3M Command Hook Mount (metallic type)
thingiverse
I finally got my shiny metal 3M hook back on track, having lost it initially but managed to source adhesive strips just in time for the mounting process to begin. This replacement part is designed specifically for the plastic piece that connects the adhesive strip to the hook, a component that's essential for the overall functionality of the setup. Considering whether it would be more cost-effective to purchase one outright instead of printing it out, there's certainly a possibility that buying one could prove cheaper in the long run. However, with access to a 3D printer and having already invested time into designing this part from scratch, why not take advantage of the opportunity to print out a replacement using a mere 30 minutes' worth of filament? Print Settings: Printer: FFCreat0r Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 150 micron Infill: 90% Notes: Print with one shell and 90% infill, utilizing any suitable resolution. A raft and supports are necessary if the part is printed in the recommended orientation (as illustrated in the MakerWare image). Fortunately, I was able to get away with using PLA despite its usually requiring different settings. Post-Printing: Remove the rafts and supports. I managed to complete this task successfully.
