This hack and attached code enable a Gen 3 motherboard user to operate a fifth stepper for dual extrusion if they have a second stepper-driven extruder. The SCL and SDA pins, initially unused, are utilized for the fifth stepper. However, this is still a work in progress, so please report any unclear aspects, and I will address them. To implement the hack, install the provided firmware, connect using the depicted cable, and arrange the connections as Stepper Driver to Motherboard, Step to SCL, DIR to SDA, EN to A0 (the same pin as the 4th stepper's enable). Additionally, include the 3G_6D.xml file in your Replicator G machines folder. Begin by starting Replicator G with the printer disconnected and select "3G 6D Cupcake (Gen3 XYZ, Mk5/6+Gen4 Extruder)" as your machine after choosing Machine -> Machine Type (Driver). Ensure you have enabled "Show experimental machine profiles" in ReplicatorG -> Preferences. After connecting the bot and restarting Replicator G, verify that the fifth motor functions with motor B through the control panel.
