3Fold, the Revolutionary Foldable RepRap 3D Printer I designed this mechanical marvel as my final project for engineering school. Weighing in at a mere 6.5 kg, it can churn out prints of impressive dimensions - 200x200x200 mm. I took extra care to minimize vibrations, employing low-inertia carriages on both the X and Y axes. This printer runs smoothly with Bowden-style extrusion and 3mm filament, making it a breeze to switch to 1.75mm if needed. The sturdy base is crafted from four interlocking parts, securely fastened with superglue and reinforced screws. For your convenience, I've uploaded the complete CAD files in SolidWorks format, along with comprehensive plans. The firmware is also ready for use right out of the box.
