The mount aligns the sensor tip precisely with the pivot line of the extruder, making it much less sensitive to any bends or misalignment of the extruder carriage. This is in contrast to the mount suggested by Geeetech that places the 3Dtouch directly in front of the extruder carriage. I've experienced issues where I had to frequently adjust the offset setting in eeprom, but now I'm able to get consistent measurements every single time. It's worth noting that you'll need to extend the arm that activates the X home sensor, or else the carriage will jam during homing operations.
