3DR Simple J-Head End Effector
thingiverse
I revamped the 3DR Simple's (http://trains.socha.com/2013/09/3dr-simple-delta-printer-part-i.html) end effector, using a J-Head instead of the original Printrbot Simple hot end. I had spare J-Heads and opted for a TriDPrinting.com J-Head design; MakerFarm J-Heads may require a different mounting plate due to their slight differences. To complete this modification, you'll need 3 M3 x 20 socket head cap screws, 3 M3 nuts, 1 M5 nut, and 1 Push Fit Pneumatic Bushing for 4mm OD tube, 5mm thread. First, print the new platform and J-Head holder plate. Then, use a torch or high heat to heat the M5 nut and sink it into the hex recess on top of the platform. This ensures metal threads for mechanical strength. Next, assemble the J-Head, mounting plate, and platform together. Finally, install your new end effector onto your 3DR Simple and enjoy your upgraded printer!
