3DR Iris Snap On Landing Gear
thingiverse
This is a lightweight landing gear for a 3DR Iris drone, designed to snap directly onto the arms. I've uploaded two versions: one optimized for FDM printing and another for SLS. The separate version includes feet, a foot mirror, and a clip specifically tailored for FDM printing. To ensure proper alignment, make sure the flat part of the feet is oriented straight down towards the print bed. The clip should be printed as a column to achieve maximum strength. I recommend using carbon fiber filament from Matterhackers, but you can also print with ABS or PLA. For connecting the feet and clip, I used a 3mm screw with thread lock applied. Simply snap the landing gear onto your Iris quadcopter arms, positioning it as close to the body as possible to minimize stress on the copter arm. This design is ideal for securing various accessories, such as retractable landing gears, cameras, sensors, lights, and prop guards. Happy printing and flying.
