3DPW: SteamPUnk'd Mini Molder
grabcad
Introducing a 3D printed Mini Roto molder with steam punk-inspired design! This unique concept features a 4-gear drivetrain that enables even, spherical rotation for an even coating of two-part pourable urethane or epoxy plastics. The molder produces lightweight, hollow parts and has adjustable holding plates with built-in grips for precise mold centering. Maximum build size is approximately 4"Lx2.8"Wx2.3"D, preferably using a 2-part silicone or urethane mold. To optimize build size, the spin handle is designed to be printed vertically and rotated later. Two nut options are provided in the .stl file: either use the included nuts for clamping down plates, or opt for M8 bolts from a hardware store with washers or spacers. The design was created independently of any similar entries and has been tested successfully at half scale. A shoutout to the GC member who shared the test print photos! Credit to kayaksailor.deviantart.com for the backdrop image in the "realistic" materials render. Thank you for considering this project, Jon.
