3DPrinted Camera - Open Reflex

thingiverse

Open Reflex is a research-based project that explores desktop 3D printing, open design, and hacking in the realm of analog cameras. It's an entirely open-source camera with a mirrored viewfinder and a unique finger-activated mechanical shutter (operating at approximately 1/60 seconds). This camera is compatible with any photographic lens available. The components can be easily printed on a modern RepRap-like ABS 3D printer without the need for support material, and each part should print within 15 hours. Assembly shouldn't take more than an hour as well. Each component (film receiver, shutter, and viewfinder) is designed to be separate to simplify building and modifications. The source files are licensed under Creative Commons By-Sa, allowing users to modify them for new features while requiring them to share their improvements on the platform. Detailed step-by-step instructions can be found on Instructables at http://www.instructables.com/id/EEMGLJMHI3TRG33/. The files also include .rar packs and a .Blend source file for further customization. Enjoy experimenting with the Open Reflex!
