3DPonics O-ring Bottle Stand Insert
thingiverse
This is an insert for the 3DPonics Bottle Stand, designed to achieve a better seal with the bottle. Requirements: - O-ring (mine has a 21.0 mm inner diameter and 2.5 mm thickness). Any o-ring with a ~1-inch outer diameter should work as long as it's not too thick. Instructions: 1. Print the bottle stand and the insert. 2. Wet the o-ring, then slide it onto the bottom of the insert so that the bottom of the o-ring is about 1 mm above the flat side. 3. Carefully insert the assembly into the bottle stand. It helps to put your index finger through the assembly and lower one side at a time into the opening to avoid catching on threads. 4. Screw in the bottle **CAREFULLY**. The bottle stand can crack easily since the layers are perpendicular to tightening force. Tighten until you feel the o-ring, then give the smallest additional turn (1-3 degrees), and test for leaks. Continue slowly tightening until no more leakage occurs. 5. When replacing the bottle in the future, the assembly should remain in place. Just wet the o-ring slightly each time the bottle is reattached.
