3D Printing Enthusiast Unleashes Design Challenge with Spool Holder. Conceived in Fusion 360, this innovative design consists of two parts that can be printed flat without supports for maximum strength. The primary component is the spool holder itself, while a second part serves as a stopper that attaches securely at the end. The Loft feature ensures the spool remains safely away from protruding spools on the front of shelves. To minimize filament usage, the underside is hollowed out. Meanwhile, the base section features cutouts to accommodate shelf brackets without obstruction. Four variations of the Spool Holder cater to different spool widths: 60mm, 80mm, 100mm, and 120mm long. This versatility allows users to support a wide range of spools. Printed in nGen Dark Green on a Prusa MK3, this design pushed the boundaries with settings optimized for good overhang performance on the underside. The result was a successful test print. To visualize how these holders will look on actual shelves, I've included renderings from Fusion 360. Enjoy and give it a #HighFive!
