3DP XL SphereBot (Fully 3D Printed Eggbot)
thingiverse
3DP XL Spherebot Fully 3D printed extra large eggbot/spherebot built by bolting or gluing together multiple parts. Files for a standard size version are available, but I'm planning to print the extra large version soon. Comments are welcome if you want different shaft diameters for the driver egg cup and pen pivot motor shaft adapter options of 5mm and 4mm. I'm working on an Instructable that explains how to assemble this spherebot, which should be straightforward, but some parts need a specific order due to their dovetail joints. This model can either be bolted or glued together; I chose the latter, using ABS Juice to attach my parts while clamping them in place until the glue dried. Please note that you shouldn't print the SphereBot_XL_Assembled.stl file - it's only meant for reference during assembly. Printer Settings Printer: FFCP and Dup4 are recommended printers for this model. Rafts: It doesn't matter which option you choose, but I'll mention both for clarity. Supports: Printing with supports is necessary for a few parts, including the drive/idler cups, bearing holder, print bed adhesion promoter, and helper discs at the corners. Resolution: Set your resolution to 200 microns (0.20mm) for optimal results. Infill: An infill percentage of 30% or more is recommended for a strong spherebot.
