This is primarily a design for attaching the gimbal mount and frame adapter securely. The gimbal arms and lower components from the yaw motor down come directly from this object http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:645395. This design includes additional compressive support for the gimbal mechanisms using anti-vibration bobbins available from Hobby King or similar sources. The holes for these bobbins measure 9mm in diameter. I designed this gimbal and mount system with the goal of attaching it to my TBS clone HJ X-mode Alien MRC quadcopter frame. I drilled four holes on the front edge of the lower plate after cutting it back to fit. Four thumb screws keep the gimbal securely fastened to the copter frame. Alternatively, there are three mounting holes located around the lower plate that can accommodate stand-offs for extra flexibility. There is a camera platform located on the front face of the lower plate designed for mounting an FPV camera. However, I have not yet optimized this aspect nor generalized it for any specific camera model. Currently, only my Fatshark 600TVL with its own custom mount fits securely to this platform. The wires from three motors and the camera IMU cable run out of the rear face of the cover. I use 90-degree servo connectors that are soldered directly onto the board's underside. Please note that the pictures show a prototype board, which may differ slightly from my actual board design. Unfortunately, I have not yet tested this gimbal system and cannot comment on its effectiveness with the added anti-vibration bobbins in compressive support. My previous gimbal mounting plate used eight 60g bobbins placed in tension to stabilize the gimbal components. In contrast, this new design employs four 100g bobbins secured by compressive force. I included a separate yaw motor spacer as my yaw motor proved to be slightly too thin and required some extra spacing for proper movement clearance of the yaw arm. To make printing easier, I separated the spacer from the main top plate assembly. If users wish to incorporate alternative mounting options directly into the lower plate design, please leave a comment below for future consideration. Required Materials: * The gimbal mechanics from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:645395 * Anti-vibration bobbins that fit within 9mm holes (available at Hobby King in 100g black versions) * Four M3 plain nuts * Four thumb screws or four M3 screws * STorM32 BGC flight controller board (note the custom cover is designed specifically for this board, as developed by OlliW on www.rcgroups.com) * Long screws measuring M3x8 or M3x10 to secure the cover onto the top plate
