Eight inch diameter flying ring Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: Low Infill: 20% Notes: The printer added a small amount of supporting material by default to the leading and trailing edge, accounting for the curving bottom of the leading and trailing edge. Post-Printing Flying the ring The airfoil is designed to keep the center of lift on or near the disk's center of gravity. If the center of lift moves forward of the CG, the disk will precess left for a right handed (CW rotation) throw. If the center of lift moves aft of the CG, the disk will precess right for a right handed throw. The opposite is true for a left handed throw (CCW rotation). This ring is extremely light and therefore does not have the range of a heavier commercial ring like the Aerobie. However it can travel straight for a good distance. At the very end of its flight, the prototype tends to drop off to the left. I've had great success launching it strongly with a slight tilt to the right and up (I'm right handed so it spins CW for me).
