3dp burner pen

Hi all, just finished building the 3DP Burner and while I'm waiting for the laser module to arrive, thought I'd have a go at a pen attachment to see how accurate it is. This thing is very much a work in progress. It needs a lot of tweaking to get it perfect, but it does work pretty well with the Stabilo pens that I have. Here's it in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-hyIKqfU7Q Needed parts: A spare Arduino. I'm using an Uno. 1 x pen holder 1 x pen lifter (if you have more than one, it makes it easier for quickly changing pens) 1 x 9-gram servo (Tower Pro or similar) 1 x 10k resistor A length of suitable connecting wire M3 nuts and bolts to attach the pen guide Stabilo pens that have an 8mm diameter Hot melt glue or foam double-sided sticky pad Here's part 1 of the build: https://youtu.be/ZB_q3QXuLtg Part 2: https://youtu.be/ffWrbR84KnI I realize I haven't shown the Arduino setup yet. If you can't figure it out, I'll have the video up in a couple of days. Here are some very brief instructions: It should be easy to figure out though. When M8 is sent through the sender app, the CoolEn pin on the CNC shield goes live. This 5-volt signal is sent to the other Arduino and is picked up by pin 2. This triggers the servo to rotate a few degrees to lower the pen. When M9 is sent, CoolEn drops to 0v, and the reverse happens. I use Inkscape and J Tech Photonics Laser Plug-in to generate my G-code. The pen holder was made in 123D Design by Autodesk, so I've included the original files, so you can adapt them as needed. Disclaimer: You make this at your own risk. I'm not responsible if you fry something. It's worked perfectly for me though... Thanks goes to Villamany for the great 3DP Burner design.
