3DLabPrint Spitfire XVI Accessories
thingiverse
Here are some accessories for the 3DLabPrint Spitfire XVI. Firstly, there is a Battery and balance weight holder. Two versions exist depending on the thickness of your Lipo. The SpifireBatteryHolder1.STL accommodates thinner and lighter Lipos, providing more space for balance weight. The SpifireBatteryHolder2.STL is designed for thicker and heavier Lipos with less balance weight capacity. It can handle a Turnigy Graphene 2200mAh 65C. Depending on the length of your Lipo, you may want longer battery clips. The SpitfireBatteryClip6.STL adds 6mm to the standard clip's length. The SpitfireBatteryClip10.STL extends it by 10mm. To keep weight as far forward as possible, I designed a clip (SpitfireESCRetainer.STL) that holds the ESC as close to the receiver cable and available space allows. Finally, during its second landing, the tail broke off at the glue joint behind the cockpit. To prevent this, I created a joint doubler (Spitfire_XVI_fuselage_5-Bulkhead.STL) to increase the glue area and assist with alignment. A Simplify3D factory file with my settings for this part is also included. The photo of the fuselage front half appears shaky due to camera shake, but it actually shows the joint doubler in place. Print Settings: Printer: Cherry Pi IIIs with DuetWifi Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 30% Notes: I printed these parts with three perimeters and three top and bottom solid layers to prevent infill generation on thin walls. The part Spitfire_XVI_fuselage_5-Bulkhead.STL should be printed with one shell, zero infill, and no top and bottom solid layers.
