3DBucks Printing Credits
thingiverse
Classroom 3D printing often faces challenges of high costs and limited capacity, leading to students unnecessarily printing multiple versions of their designs. To optimize printer usage and motivate students, a system called "3DBucks" is introduced. Students must spend these virtual credits to print, with the cost based on filament consumption. Available denominations include 1g, 5g, 10g, 25g, and Dual credit for dual-headed printers. Teachers can award 3DBucks for achievements or good behavior. Version 1.1 of the 3DBucks design has separate STL files for heads and tails, and includes a zip tie slot. The system encourages responsible spending and design habits in the classroom.
