3D Wings

3D Wings

Behold! 3D printed wings for those who have successfully printed something, showcasing their printing prowess in style with this fashionable addition to any garment. (Note: May or may not actually be fashionable and/or stylish.) On a more serious note, I'm helping to run some 3D printing sessions at the university where I work. I wanted to showcase the process with something that would print out quickly but also be fun and serve as a merit badge for those who want one. It also serves as a good example to the class of what Thingiverse is and what you can do with things you can download using readily available 3D tools. Print Settings: Printer: Cocoon Create (i3 clone) Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Notes: Resolution and infill don't really matter for this, although finer settings will result in a better appearance. This was run at the university Makerspace on an Up Box. How I Designed This: I combined two awesome things (3D Printing Merit Badge & Drone Pilot Wings) by editing them in 123D so that the badge would fit perfectly in the centre circle of the wings. The source file is attached for those who want to tinker some more.
