A single, flat piece of material, typically rectangular in shape, forms the visible surface that covers a wall. Wall panels serve both functional and decorative purposes by providing insulation, soundproofing, uniform appearance, and some degree of durability or replaceability. While there's no predetermined size limit for materials performing these functions, a practical maximum size for wall panels is suggested to be 24 inches by 8 feet, allowing for transportation.[1] Using wall panels can minimize construction costs by providing a consistent appearance without requiring paint or other finishing materials. Wall panels may be finished on one side if the opposite side will be against a brick or concrete wall, or similar structure.[2] Alternatively, they can substitute for any type of wall when assembled to an appropriate framework. Holes are cut or drilled into wall panels to accommodate electrical outlets and devices protruding from the wall. A new eco-friendly 3D wall panel is made from fibrous sugarcane residue. Crushed sugarcane stalks remaining after raw sugar extraction by shredding form the raw material, called bagasse, which forms the base of this easily installed product. The raw material used for these panels is 100% recycled, compostable, and therefore 100% biodegradable.[3] Proper installation of prefabricated brick wall panels is essential to prevent inadequate sealage from causing enormous risks of mold and water damage to underlying structural materials.
