A building component known as a wall panel is typically flat material cut into a rectangular shape, which serves as the exposed covering for a wall. Wall panels are both functional and decorative in nature, providing insulation and soundproofing along with uniform appearance, while also offering some measure of durability or ease of replacement. Although there's no set size limit for a piece of material fulfilling these functions, a suggested maximum practical size for wall panels is 24 inches by 8 feet to allow for transportation. Using wall panels can significantly reduce construction costs by providing a consistent appearance to the panelled surface without requiring paint or another finishing material application.
