A wall covering is a single piece of material, often flat and cut into a rectangular shape, that serves as the exposed surface for a wall. Wall coverings are functional and decorative, providing insulation and soundproofing while ensuring uniformity of appearance along with some measure of durability or replaceability. Despite no set size limit, the maximum practical size for wall coverings has been suggested to be 24 inches by 8 feet, allowing for transportation. Using wall coverings can reduce construction costs by providing a consistent appearance without requiring paint or finishing materials. Coverings may be finished on one side if the other side is against a brick or concrete wall, or a comparable structure. Alternatively, panels assembled into an appropriate framework can substitute for any type of wall. Holes can be cut or drilled into coverings to accommodate electrical outlets and devices. A new eco-friendly 3D covering made from sugarcane residue is now available. This material, formed from crushed sugarcane stalks remaining after raw sugar extraction, is called bagasse. The raw material used for these 3D coverings is 100% recycled, compostable, and biodegradable. Proper installation of prefabricated brick coverings is crucial, as inadequate sealing poses a significant risk of mold and water damage to underlying structural materials.
