3D Tourbillon Clock Torque Modification
thingiverse
Many thanks to Christoph Laimer for sharing this amazing design. This updated version includes several tweaks. I adjusted the gear ratio from the main spring to apply even more torque to the system, which slightly reduces run time. The clock will operate smoothly with a minimal number of turns on the main spring. When the spring is fully wound, it causes the escapement to skip; however, as the spring relaxes over time, I believe it will strike a perfect balance between run time and torque. I also modified the ratchet pawl springs for increased engagement. Furthermore, I replaced the winding key with a small knob designed to remain securely inserted at all times. Additionally, I revised the geometry of the screw holes to work seamlessly with these screws from McMaster Carr: 95893A550 for ratchet pawls and clock face, 95893A510 for tourbillon and going barrel, and 95893A560 for lower housing.
