3d TOUCH PRINTER SUSPENSION

3d TOUCH PRINTER SUSPENSION

Hi there! I've got my big 3D touch printer sitting right on my desk at work, but the constant vibration from the machine was driving me completely crazy - not just the noise itself, but also how it was transmitting through the entire desk. So, I started doing some research and came across a clever hack where people use squash balls as feet on their makerbots to dampen the vibrations. I decided to adapt this idea for my own 3D printer. The solution is surprisingly simple: just fit some tubes snugly into the aluminum feet of the printer, then top them with doggy tennis balls (I'm pretty sure they're the same size as squash balls). With this setup, the noise has all but disappeared and I no longer feel any vibrations on my desk. Plus, it's also allowed for a bit more air to circulate under the printer - which means my board and fans can work even more efficiently!
