3D Tic Tac Toe (4x4x4)
thingiverse
This 4x4x4 version of 3D Tic Tac Toe is a familiar favorite I grew up with: it blows some of the 3x3x3 versions out of the water. I much prefer this because almost none end in draws, keeping strategy actually pretty involved. 3D printed and calling it 3D Tic Tac Toe makes total sense to me; why not? The Xs and Os feature same piece designs that were a staple from previous Shapeways projects: I'm uploading the piece designs right here along with a sleek new stand design. The improved stand is an all-new masterpiece (see the detailed renders). It prints out as 4 separate units that stack one atop another for easy storage and transport. Compared to its original counterpart, this version boasts three clear advantages: 1) it allows for partial disassembly, making access to middle spaces effortless; 2) fallen pieces no longer slide through the grid design; and 3) ditching those double helix supports means a significantly more stable structure with minimal give. No springs here! Hope you enjoy this fresh take, and I invite you to explore my newer designs on Shapeways by visiting shapeways.com/shops/mikelepage - be sure to check back here if enough interest builds.
