3D-Sticker (A tool for perception)
thingiverse
For a 3D-sticker that brings objects to life, grab a plastic teddy bear's eye, preferably 12mm in size. You can snag one online or visit your local hobby store. If neither option works out, download the third model (Eye_In) and print it - then glue it into the eye. Don't forget a double-sided tape or gum on the back. An old tale from Japan tells us that everyday objects can become gods called "Tsukumogami." These gods gain consciousness and come to life. As we develop the Internet of Things and A.I, our belongings are getting more autonomy. The story of Tsukumogami is becoming a reality - things live with us and share our space. These perceptive things can be friendly, harmless or full of hatred, all depending on how humans treat them. Based on this ancient Japanese legend, I designed this 3D-sticker. People can attach it to anything around them, giving their objects a soul and turning them into Tsukumogami. This eye serves as a perception tool for people, blending the story of animism with minimal anthropomorphism. It helps us think about the future world from the perspective of things. What's more, this eye can always stare at you. When you watch it in different postures, you'll see different emotions. The way things look at you depends on how you look at them.
