3D Sink strainer/filter.

3D Sink strainer/filter.

This is a strainer/filter designed specifically for sinks. The ideal diameter for the drain opening should be around 30mm, but it could potentially work with larger diameters if properly scaled up. By creating a hemispherical shape for the strainer, I aimed to increase its water-capturing capacity compared to traditional 2D designs. To achieve this, I added a cup-like funnel at the top that can catch and divert water as needed. However, during testing, I discovered that the pressure of the water on the cup caused the strainer to tilt onto its side. To address this issue, I introduced legs to provide greater stability. Simply apply a thin layer of crazy glue to either the insert or the inside of the strainer, and adjust the leg length accordingly to suit your sink's drain. It's worth noting that when importing my designs into the slicer, I often have to multiply them by 10 due to drawing in millimeters, which may not be the expected unit for slicers.
