3D Shadow - Fabrics 13

How many times have you struggled to achieve a convincing flat shadow in your design? How often did you try to extract a shadow from a real object, only to fall short? Shadows can be notoriously difficult to manipulate because they lack substance. Here's the solution we've been working on - 100% transparent shadows with Ambient Occlusion added to make your workflow smoother. Whether you're a designer, cartoon artist, visual effects artist, compositor or 3D artist in need of adding a shadow to your scene, these are designed for you and are incredibly easy to use. They contain everything you need to create a realistic look for your project. Images were originally rendered at 2000x2000 pixels with 16-bit depth per channel to prevent banding. We then cropped them to reduce file size and fit the content ratio. Shadows were captured from different angles - 25 degrees, 45 degrees, and from directly above - in multiple directions. We saved two versions of each shadow: one is a Hard shadow used in sunny scenes and the other is a Soft shadow used in cloudy scenes. They're perfect for use in both 2D and 3D projects and are completely noiseless. Choose which shadow suits your design and apply it to the object. Then, simply use any deformer tool like Photoshop's Transform tool or After Effects' Corner Pin effect to deform the shadow. (Video tutorials are attached.) You can mix and match between Hard and Soft shadows as you see fit - this depends on the lighting conditions of your scene. Finally, remember that a shadow is just a shadow and will never change its nature.
