How many times do designers need a separate flat shadow to make their design look more realistic? How often do they want to extract a shadow from a real object, only to be frustrated by failure? Shadows are notoriously difficult to manipulate because they're not solid objects. Here's the solution: we've created 100% transparent shadows with Ambient occlusion added to simplify your workflow. Whether you're a designer, cartoon artist, visual effects artist, compositor, or 3D artist in need of adding a shadow to your scene, these shadows are for you and easy to use. They contain everything needed to create a realistic look for your project. Images were originally rendered at 2000×2000 pixels with 16-bit depth per channel to prevent banding. We then cropped them to reduce file size and fit the content ratio. Shadows were captured from various angles – 25°, 45°, and straight down – in multiple directions. Two versions of each shadow were saved: one hard shadow for sunny scenes and another soft shadow for cloudy scenes. Both are ideal for use in 2D and 3D projects and feature noiseless quality. Choose the shadow that best suits your design and apply it to the object. Then, simply use any deformer tool like Photoshop's "Transform" or After Effects' "Corner Pin" effect – or their equivalents in other software – to deform the shadow. (Video tutorials are provided.) You can mix and match hard and soft shadows as needed, depending on your scene's lighting conditions. Finally, remember that a shadow is a shadow and remains unchanged.
