Humans are able to meticulously scan entire rock formations using three-dimensional scanning technology. This results in the production of precise digital models, often referred to as cliff or ground geometry. These scans are created with powerful computer-aided design software, including a version known as Max 2017. The scanned data can be utilized in conjunction with additional visual effects tools such as V-ray and F-storm also developed for the same program. These 3D models are exported in common file formats OBJ or FBX to allow for maximum flexibility when incorporating them into larger projects.
