3D Scan with SCENECT - Tutorial
thingiverse
This staircase belongs to my home, which I reconstructed using Faro SCENECT and SketchUp software. For a tutorial on creating a point cloud, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T56aOkaK488. To reduce the number of points in your cloud, export the scans from SCENECT with a subsampling option (10 x 10). Then, import the cloud into SketchUp per these instructions: http://www.my3dscanner.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=34:how-to-integrate-point-cloud-into-google-sketchup&Itemid=93. After that, you can draw your 3D model and print it out.
