This ancient metatarsal bone was meticulously digitized for my Master Thesis using Agisoft software. It exhibits characteristic signs of needle production, including deep longitudinal incisions and cuts to remove the epiphysis. On 3D models like this one, it's possible to accurately estimate the maximum number of needles that could be crafted from this single bone. In this particular case, there remains sufficient material to create two needles, each measuring 8 cm in length and 5 mm in width.
