3D Road work sign with frame
thingiverse
I am completely captivated by TJProject's incredible work on the 3D road work sign at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3723876! I thought it would be fascinating to create a frame that perfectly replicates the triangular shape of the road sign, ensuring an unmistakable reminder of its iconic design. Here is my attempt: The design I came up with is specifically tailored for the initial model, but I soon realized that everything was excessively large - both for my printer and my living space! The figure stands at 210mm high, so I made sure to create a frame that is 450mm tall, while the base is an equilateral triangle measuring 550mm on each side. To bring this design to life, I printed all parts with a scale of 0.1 and ended up with a charming 45mm high sign that now proudly sits on my desk. A huge thank you goes out to TJProject! However, there's one minor issue - the original STL file and the extensions I designed for under the feet and sand cannot be included in the same file, so they need to be printed separately before being glued together. Fortunately, the black parts fit snugly together, but there is a slight looseness between the red and black components. To address this, I carefully placed three black stands in position and secured the figure in place, ensuring that all the black parts can now move as one unit. I hope you enjoy making your own versions of this design!
