3D Puzzle Box

3D Puzzle Box

thingiverse

This is my 3D puzzle box, customizable in any way you like - just change the bottom part to suit your style, I personalized mine with my initials. The basics are straightforward: drop a ball through the top hole, use the sliders to guide it into place, and make your way down. At the bottom, simply move the box left and right to navigate around the maze and exit out the other end. I've included a repaired version of this design, remastered with Netfabb, along with Sketchup files and a boxed-ready mod that you can customize yourself. By tackling this project, you'll learn how to think creatively, outside the box (pun intended), and have fun making and playing with it. Since I don't own a 3D printer, the print bed size is unknown - but I've included a file showing everything arranged on the platform, which you can resize or let your slicer handle. Each component is carefully numbered: just refer to the images for guidance. Here's how I designed this puzzle box: To get started, I used a basic box template and created an inner wall using the offset tool. Then, I employed the push/pull tool to craft the perfect box. For the sliders, I began with one square, used the push/pull tool to shape it, and copied that design multiple times, turning each into components to prevent them from sticking to the main box. Next, I placed the sliders where I wanted them and marked their positions using the push/pull marks as a reference.
