3D projection of 120-cell

Here is a model I constructed of a 3D projection of a 4D shape called the 120-cell among other names. Learn more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/120-cell

Also check out some videos on Youtube. Search Youtube for "120 cell" and see if you can understand how this is a 3D projection of that 4D object... Good luck!

I'm still learning how to use the tools to generate better and more printable stl files but if you do print this, use a wide brim at a minimum and scale it up as needed or run it through a tool like Blender to thicken it. You may need additional support also depending on your bed adhesion (I used an 86% overhang angle touching the bedplate only). You will most likely want to scale the smaller model up by 200% or 300% or more in the slicer because it is very thin at the current scale (too thin really to be successful with a 0.4mm nozzle). The inside of the struts may be hollow so I'm still thinking about how to solve that issue to make them solid. I will likely be replacing these stl files as I figure out how to improve them.

Have fun!

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Creality

Printer:

Ender 5

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

100%

Filament: eSun PLA+ PLA+

Category: Math
