3D Printing Friendly Garmin Interface
thingiverse
There are numerous Garmin interfaces available, but (in my opinion) they all fall short due to one of two critical flaws: 1) The intended print orientation is horizontal, necessitating support structures that are cumbersome and leave behind residual filament that interferes with the interface's operation. 2) The intended print orientation is vertical, exposing the flexible part of the interface to vulnerability due to inadequate layer bonding. I've developed a multi-piece design that allows for printing without support, which can then be assembled after printing. This approach yields a decent surface finish because of the lack of support, and also ensures good layer adhesion since everything prints horizontally. This design may seem impractical on its own; however, my intent is to make the f3d file available for use in other projects. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIQ28t2-DpE
