3D-Printer XYZ & Extruder stepper calibration

Troubles with accurate printing?? Check your X,Y,Z and E-steps of your 3D-printer!!! You can use lots of settings like extrusion multiplier, horizontal settings, etc..., But if you want really nice fitting results: calibrate your X,Y,Z and Extruder steps first with the specific filament you want to use! Every filament (Brand, Quality, type, color and even batch number) can give different results, if you want to print with accurate measurements, then you should try this;-) Not needed for those who are just printing single objects and don't need accurate print measurements... The Extruder steps needs to be calibrated on a regular basis (month, year, whatever is needed). The X,Y and Z steps must be calibrated for every type of filament you are using if you want to be sure your prints will have accurate measurements... I have a couple of printers, also my most expensive printer (Ultimaker 3) needs it!!! What to do: 1) Print the STL object (you can redesign it, Fusion360 file is added). 2) Check the measurements of the printed object: X=200mm Y=180mm Z=100mm. 3) Use the spreadsheet file to recalculate your steps. 4) Reprint the STL with the recalculated steps if you need some improvement. Important: The new Z-step value can be stored in 2 ways: 1) Safest method is into your printer configuration, after that: reboot printer and do a new bed level calibration. 2) With your slicer, but you must change the Z-offset in your slicer too. The bed level will be changed, so you must change the offset. Check the files and let us know leaving a comment what your results are;-) My own calibration with this test-object using an Ultimaker3 and FillRight Pro ABS+ Blue: Original UM3 steps configuration: X80.0 Y80.0 Z400.0 E369.0 Measurements before calibrations 199.5 x 179.2 x 99.5 mm New calibration values: X80.3 Y80.3 Z404.0 E348.4 Another calibration with this test-object using an Ultimaker3 and DevilDesign PETG Bright Green: Current UM3 steps configuration: X80.0 Y80.0 Z400.8 E348.4 Measurements before calibrations 200.2 x 180.2 x 100.0 mm New calibration values: X79.9 Y79.9 Z400.8 E348.4 End results: 200.0 x 180.0 x 100.0 mm (see the spreadsheet for the details). Check the differences between the above materials: ABS+ is shrinking when it's printed and cooled down, so that's why the step-changes for this material are bigger then for the PETG material. Still not sure if this all will help you, just do a few tests: I am sure it will make you happy;-)
