3D Printer Tool Caddy

3D Printer Tool Caddy

This is my first share. I was not able to find an organizer big enough to fit all my tools for my 3D printer so I put this together. You can see from the picture that it has a place for calipers, various needle-nosed pliers, flat cutters, super glue, lubricant, hex wrenches, X-acto blades, tweezers, and a deburring tool and blades. There is also a compartment for sandpaper and full-sized scissors below as well as a small miscellaneous compartment on the top. While it may not fit the bill for everyone, it can be easily modified to accommodate whatever you need. It barely fits on my Prusa i3 MK3 bed. I printed it in PLA and ramped up the speed to 200% (which still came out great) and finished in about a day and a half. I have provided a rough file to represent a set of digital calipers from Harbor Freight. I used this to get the front compartment right which still needed some tweaking after I printed. Note: I have reduced the height and width of the section holding the ruler portion of the calipers. It was too thin originally and broke off. You may wish to print the drawer as a separate print (I did not use this) or eliminate it all together. If you wish to eliminate it, you can simply lower the print into the bed and until this section is gone, greatly reducing the filament use and print time given all the support needed in this compartment. No other supports were needed and the item can be printed in the position it will be used.
