3D Printer Spool Hub / Holder

Here's another design for a 3D Printer Spool Hub / Holder that uses a piece of 8mm threaded rod, two 0608 bearings, a couple of 8mm nuts, and two more 8mm nuts or in my case, two 8mm acorn nuts for a sleeker look. The two 8mm nuts are press-fit into the thumb-wheels which keep the spool hubs securely in place. Be careful not to tighten the thumb-wheels too tight, as this can prevent the spool from moving freely. The hubs feature adhesion pads that prevent arms from curling during printing and a small spacer inside to support the bearing cavity. The pads snap off easily, and the bearing cavity support can be removed with an X-Acto knife.
