3D printer SO-1 (CoreXY design)
thingiverse
Human: 3D printer using the coreXY type concept with a sturdy box enclosure added for stability.\r\n\r\nAuto bed leveling makes printing effortless, eliminating the need for manual tuning with those screws; even when they're left in place, you can still level manually (though it's unlikely anyone will).\r\n\r\nThe integrated spool is seamlessly merged into the printer's body, eliminating the hassle of finding space for a separate spool. This design also allows you to move the printer freely without relocating the spool.\r\n\r\nPrinted parts are optimized for minimal material usage and exceptional tolerance against dimension errors.\r\n\r\nThe 2020 aluminium profiles (square tube used in prototype 1 & 2) provide a robust framework, while the 8mm hardened steel shaft paired with LM8UU linear bearings ensure smooth motion. The atmega2560 + ramps board offers precise control, and Nema17 4401 motors deliver reliable performance.\r\n\r\nA bowden extruder completes this impressive build.\r\n\r\nI'm based in Paris, where I've developed several prototypes.
