3D printer roller spool holder
thingiverse
FreeCAD parametric spool holder rollers for your 3D printer are now available. The dimensions in the files are specifically designed to fit an extended roller that is exactly 10 cm long, similar to what you would find on a FABtotum, but you can easily edit the FreeCAD file to match any size you desire. Using the provided settings with a length of 10 cm will not accommodate the side panel of your FABtotum, however, this length will allow most big spools to fit perfectly without needing further adjustments such as un-spooling and re-spools onto smaller spool sizes. These spool holders were built with an inner diameter of 8 mm in mind, which is equivalent to the diameter of the spindles that come with your FABtotum, but fitting these bearings proved extremely difficult due to how tightly they were pressed into place. To avoid any hassle during assembly, I have revised the FreeCAD file to match a more relaxed fit at 8.1 mm. Although this adjustment should provide a relatively smoother experience, it might still be beneficial for you to adjust this setting even further if necessary to better suit your needs.
