3D Printer Miniature Christmas Ornament - Finder-like
pinshape
Imagine a Christmas tree with a 3D printer perched on top, shining brightly like a beacon of innovation. That's exactly what I did to spread the joy of 3D printing this holiday season. The model was designed not to scale, but it closely resembles my beloved FlashForge Finder, one of my all-time favorite printers. No supports or glue are needed, making it a breeze to assemble. To make it even more festive, simply paint the model with vibrant colors and watch it come alive. Print Settings Summary: To get started, print 8 pins and the rest of the files without any support material required. The print orientation is already optimized for both printing strength and durability, unless your z-axis is facing downwards instead of upwards. For a sturdy hang on the Christmas tree, an infill percentage of less than 30% is recommended; otherwise, it might be too heavy to handle. As a festive decoration, you'll want to print the top cover with a loop cut for easy hanging from the tree branch. If you're printing this model as a desk display, simply omit the loop cut and enjoy your shiny new desktop accessory. Updates: On December 22nd, 2018, I made some significant improvements to the design of the top frame, making it more visually appealing and adding flexibility to the pins for easier assembly.
