I designed and built this printer, but it was a nerve-wracking experience with dual 3D printing, and in the end, I rewrote it to a single extruder printer. A 400W Fortron PC ATX PSU was used. It came with two homemade 0.4 nozzle hotends (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:955315) - 70 mm offset, bowden type extruders. The electronics were Mega2560 + RAMPs 1.4 + Full_Graphic_Smart_LCD_Controller + six NEMA 17 motors. Malrin Firmware was used. I achieved zero backlash effect with this type of Z axis and ten millimeter tr3 trapezoidal rods. The working area was: One as a dual extruder printer with two hundred ten by two hundred by four millimeter glass - XYZ - two hundred ten, one ninety, three hundred millimeters. Two as a single extruder printer with four hundred by two hundred by four millimeter glass - XYZ - three hundred ninety eight, one ninety, three hundred millimeters for PLA prints and two hundred ten, one ninety, three hundred millimeters for ABS ones. Manual control was used for forty millimeter fans for hotends/always ON by default/, and manual control for thirty millimeter fan ducts with potentiometers for each hotend. Source files (for laser cutting and references) were uploaded for AutoCad 2010 or higher versions. You may use this (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:974558) heatbed version, which should be better. Use my bowden version extruder - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:662780 with mine or fishbone gears, or any one bowden type extruder with fifty millimeter offset for mounting holes. You may use my LCD case - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:743724 or any one for Full_Graphic_Smart_LCD_Controller and drill two holes with fifty millimeter offset in the back of the case. A clamp for e3d type hotends was also uploaded, but you have to rework thirty millimeter fanduct. Frame sides are identical so you can choose left or right for electronics, LCD, potentiometers, and PSU/spools/extruders. The printer is for ten millimeter tr3 trapezoidal rods and this (http://www.technobg.com/uploads/com_article/gallery/thumbs/256x256_a244218b8c02e17641cfef12d9409c1ebf5d9142.jpg) type of round TR3 10 mm D x L 22 x 15 millimeter nut, which is three millimeters cut from its outside diameter! Use the same ones or a lot of rework will be needed! All parts for laser cutting can be made from eight millimeter plexiglass instead of MDF, but the prices are... MDF 8 mm ~3.5-4 € for m2; Plexiglass 8 mm ~40-50 € for m2. Also, you have to use super glue, special glue for plexiglass, xylene or chloroform (you have to pay attention for last two) to assemble the parts.
