3D Printer LED Ring
thingiverse
SET SCALE TO 10X My STL files are mysteriously coming in 10 times smaller than they should be. I created an LED ring specifically designed to hold six 5mm LEDs for a secure mount around a printer's extruder. It greatly enhances the printability by providing better visibility. You have total freedom to decide how to attach it; I included two mounting holes on either side of the ring. Mine is crafted from PLA and performed well near the extruder without any thermal issues. A wiring diagram is provided for those who require it. My design uses broad-angle "stubby" LEDs paired with a 220 ohm resistor, while my fan and LEDs are connected directly to the power supply. Alternatively, you can attach the LEDs to the fan header and adjust brightness in sync with the fan speed. Feel free to request custom-made one - I'd be happy to help!
