3D Printer for ender 3 frame
thingiverse
This is my engineering thesis, where I design and build a 3D printer that fits perfectly into an Ender 3 frame. Alternatively, you can easily create aluminum profile tubes using 4040, 2040 & 2020 profiles if needed. The following aluminum profiles are required: * 4040 x 290mm x 2pcs * 2040 x 400mm x 2pcs * 2020 x 330mm x 1pc To ensure high-quality prints without any ringing, the printer uses MGN12H linear rails. 5mm aluminum plates are manufactured using a water cutting method. A DXF-file containing the aluminum plates at a 1:1 scale is available and ready for thermal cutting. I highly recommend using the water cutting method. The drawing from the aluminum plates includes thread and hole locations after cutting. Assembly instructions can be found in a 10-page PDF format, with each sheet showing subassembly phases and required materials. STL files for 3D printed parts are also included: The design idea for the extruder and bowden attachment comes from the "Design prototype test" YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJ26DD9tk6w I used super simple belt tensioners, designed by berky93. The design can be found on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1784375 A firmware.bin file for the SKR Mini E3 mainboard is included. I recommend calibrating the Z offset using Pronterface, as the Z offset is set to -2.5 for safety. **Please note that this design is a prototype and its dimensions and components are subject to change.** *New cover designs for the power supply and motherboard are being planned, with possible connection changes for the power supply and motherboard.*
