3D Printer Cover
thingiverse
I recently purchased a Cocoon Create Touch. It will print ABS unlike my Deltaprintr, but it is way too cold here at the moment so it needed a cover. My junk pile has lots of old TV and Ham radio antennae so I cut lengths of the tube to make a frame and covered it with bubble wrap. Print 6 x FrameCorners, 2 x TopFront1 and that is the box. You could just print 8 x TopFront1 corners instead as I did. The only difference is the extra hole for the front DoorTop to hang in. 1 x DoorTop and another but reversed. 2 x DoorBTM and the front door is done. The pins on the DoorTop parts sit in the holes of the TopFrame1 parts. Another option that I have not done yet is a swinging door. 2 x DoorHinge for the swinging side and 2 x DoorBtm. Then on the box, have 1 x FrameHinge2 and another swapped to have the door clip into. A flap cut in the bubble wrap allows access to the controls, and a clear bit of plastic packaging makes a window. NOTE!! I measured the tube to be 9mm but it is actually 10mm so I had to drill the sockets out. Scale it to suit your dowel or aluminium tube. This is a quick fix to allow me to print ABS and it appears to work. A slot cut in the wrap on top gives access for the filament. Clear plastic could be used all around. It is all held together with clear wide sticky tape. Not quite Duct tape, but you could use that if you want. If I've done it correctly, here is a link to the TinkerCAD files... https://www.tinkercad.com/dashboard/projects/kHElBhtAcgl-3d-printer-enclosure happy modifying!
