3D printer air filter

UPDATE:\r\n---------------\r\n\r\nInstalled lateral support inside Platsa cabinet for easy installation.\r\n\r\nAfter a few weeks without the filter, I decided to reconnect it because I was missing the smell of ABS with the filter in place.\r\nBut now that I've moved my printer to a Platsa cabinet, I wanted to use the air filter again without extracting the air out of the enclosure. To utilize what I already manufactured, I created a simple bracket to attach it to the inner wall of the Platsa, taking advantage of the existing holes inside the cabinet.\r\n\r\nIt uses 2 M4x16 countersunk screws. M4x12 will also do the job.\r\n\r\nThis is my air filter for the printer enclosure.\r\n\r\nIt consists of only 4 very simple parts and has a low profile design to fit snugly in place.\r\n\r\nCreated in SOLIDWORKS 2019.\r\n\r\nThe HEPA enclosure has side holes for small screws to hold the filter in position. However, the enclosure is so well-fitted that I chose not to use the side screws.\r\n\r\nIt uses a standard 120x120mm 5V (USB) fan. If you feel it doesn't have sufficient CFM, you can always opt for a 12V or 24V fan.\r\nBut since dwell time is crucial according to theory, the longer air takes to pass through the filter, the better. A 5V USB fan may be the ideal choice because of its low CFM but good airflow.\r\n\r\nWhen working, I can feel a gentle air stream coming from the filter, which is sufficient for me.\r\n\r\nI also selected a 5V fan because it's quiet and compatible with my mobile USB chargers. Plus, they're the cheapest option available!\r\n\r\nPerhaps in a future iteration, I'll design an angled carbon filter enclosure to increase dwell time.\r\n\r\nI placed the fan inside the enclosure for minimal external volume but you can choose to place it outside so its power cord is easily accessible. However, this will add 25mm to the carbon filter enclosure.\r\n\r\nThe fan and HEPA filter were ordered from Aliexpress:\r\n[120x120x25mm USB fan](https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/120-x120-x25mm-Black-CPU-USB-Cooling-Fan-Silent-Computer-Desktop-Case-PC-CPU-DC-5V/32833555407.html?spm=a2g03.10010108.1000016.1.21863aecA6jPCq&isOrigTitle=true)\r\n[HEPA filter](https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/Vacuum-Cleaner-HEPA-Filter-Replacement-for-Philps-FC9083-FC9087-FC9088/32823568418.html?spm=a2g03.10010108.1000016.1.570e2605Fgz66J&isOrigTitle=true)\r\n\r\nInitially, I bought this 12V fan but since I don't have a 12V PSU yet, I opted for the USB fan and I'm quite satisfied with it.\r\n[Optional 12V 120x120mm fan](https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/120mm-4-Blue-LED-Light-CPU-Cooling-Fan-Computer-And-Game-PC-Clear-Case-Quad-12CM/32800736453.html?spm=a2g03.10010108.1000016.1.46853c27XNePUM&isOrigTitle=true)\r\n\r\nYou can also choose another HEPA filter with different dimensions like this, but then you'll need to modify the HEPA filter enclosure to accommodate the new filter:\r\n[Optional HEPA filter](https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/Substitui-o-do-Filtro-HEPA-Para-Philips-FC8140-FC8146-FC8147-V-cuo-Pe-as-Mais-Limpas/32860998162.html?spm=a2g03.10010108.1000014.3.4bae2605k6EM35&pvid=0edc2536-518b-468c-88df-bda2bb418610&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.13338.107646.000000000000000&scm-url=1007.13338.107646.000000000000000&scm_id=1007.13338.107646.000000000000000)
